Join Sierra Pacific Fly Fishers, Mountains Restoration Trust, and the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission to remove crayfish from Malibu Creek. The non-native, invasive crayfish detrimentally effect many native species and wreak havoc on the creek`s ecosystem. Volunteers have removed over 40,000 crayfish from the creek!
Be prepared to get muddy and have fun!
Typically, MRT and volunteers work Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. We typically meet at the dirt corner "parking lot" of Piuma Road and Malibu Canyon Road ( Click here for map location ). Click on the Eventbrite link below to check available dates. Note: Work may be cancelled due to rain, fire danger, etc.
