The Youth Naturalist Program is designed to provide a
unique environmental educational experience for children ages 5 to 7 and 8 to 12.
On the second Saturday of each month, children are given the opportunity to learn about natural history, ecological concepts and environmental concerns in a fun, hands-on environment. Most sessions include a hike, discovery lab or guest speaker and a related craft.
Activities are based in science, with an environmental focus, taught by professional instructors to provide a positive and enriching learning experience.
Programs often include endangered species, insects, mammals, birds, paleontology, geology marine biology, and more. A family field trip occurs two or three times a year.
