Mountains Restoration Trust's headquarters is the heart of Headwaters Corner at Calabasas, gateway of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area.
Several years ago, MRT, in collaboration with the City of Calabasas, Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, Los Angeles County and National Park Service, acquired 12-acres to create an innovative environmental and cultural interpretive center.
Headwaters Corner includes the Los Angeles River headwater, Dry Canyon Creek, representative examples of five indigenous plant communities, and an historic homestead called the Masson House.
Headwaters Corner was established as a community resource providing passive recreation, a demonstration garden and a center for stewardship programs.
